How It All Began

http://julia.blogg.se/2011/march/narnia.html

Lucy here.

For my entrance into the blogging world, I want to share my thoughts on what happened that special Spring day ... the day I first entered Narnia.

I was playing hide-and-seek (as you may well know) with my brothers, Peter and Edmund, and sister, Susan. I assumed an out of the way spare room, inside the wardrobe it contained, would make a rather nice hiding spot. But when I entered it, the wardrobe kept going, and going, and going. It seemed to never have a back!

My, what a surprise it was to find myself in that snowy forest. Much colder than an English forest, of course. What an eerily, yet instantly enduring place it was.

Now, some of you may think me foolish for being so trusting towards the first person I met. However, I knew perfectly well that anyone carrying parcels under an umbrella could be no real threat to me. As I learned later, it was all part of Aslan's plan.

Tea time with Mr. Tumnus: the beginning of my very best friendship. He has taught me so much over the years about Narnia, friendship, and life. I do hope you have such a friend. Also, you can read this post on becoming friends with a faun.

When it came time for me to leave Narnia that afternoon, I had no second-thoughts, because I knew I would be back. I would take my three siblings there straight away. Of course, this was silly, looking back on it: there was no guarantee I would enter Narnia again, except that our role in Aslan's plan was just beginning to unfold.

So, my main thought on that lovely day: always be ready for an adventure, wherever you go.

~ Love always, Lucy the Valiant
